WebManager Photo Settings

Photo Resizing

  • For consistency in our website designs, and to conform with photo size expectations for sites that we export to, your vehicle photos are resized to 640×480 when they are uploaded to WebManager.
  • If your WebManager plan has Large Photos support, you can upload photos up to 1024×768.
  • When your photos are resized, if the original image width to height is not a ratio of 4:3, you can choose how WebManager should handle the image.wmphotosettings1
    • To preserve the original image without any distortion or cutting off any part of the image, select the Fit option, which is the default.
      • This will resize the image to fit inside the 640×480 area, leaving space that needs to be filled in with a background color that you can select.
    • If you would rather completely fill the 640×480 space and cut off the sides or the top and bottom of the image to fit, you can choose the Fill option.
      • This will result in losing some of the original image, but won’t leave any space that needs to be filled in with a background color.
    • Lastly, you can choose to Stretch the image to fit the 640×480 area.
      • You won’t lose any of the original image this way, but if the original image isn’t very close to a ratio of 4:3, the distortion will be noticeable.

Photo Watermarkwmphotosettings2

  • You can embed a watermark in your photos to assert ownership and deter anyone from saving and reusing the photos for their own purposes.
    • If you enable the watermark, it will be added to your vehicle photos when they are uploaded to WebManager or imported from any third-party sources.
  • You can choose to use a simple text watermark, or you can upload your own .PNG image to be embedded in your photos.
    • Your watermark image must be .PNG format to support transparency and alpha blending and cannot be larger than 640×480.
  • If you choose to use a text watermark, you can edit the text to be embedded in your photos, along with choosing the font, size, color, and opacity for the text, and an optional background color and opacity as well.
    • Click on Preview Watermark to see an example of how your options will appear.
  • Once the watermark has been added to your photos, it is now a part of the photos, and cannot be changed without deleting the photos and re-uploading or re-importing them.

Dealership Info Overlaywmphotosettings3

  • You can apply an overlay to your photos containing your dealership info so viewers can contact you.
    • This overlay can function as a more elaborate watermark, but it can also be useful if you are posting on Craigslist so users can easily find your contact info.
  • WebManager has several different overlay templates you can choose from with color variations for each, or you can upload your own .PNG overlay image.
    • Your overlay image must be .PNG format to support transparency and alpha blending, and must be exactly 640×480 (800×600 or 1024×768 if you have Large Photos support).
  • If you choose to use an overlay template, you can edit the text that is displayed for the Dealership Name, Phone Number, and Website Address when the overlay is generated.
    • Click Preview Overlay to see an example of how your options will appear.
  • If you choose to add overlays to your first vehicle photo, or to all vehicle photos, the overlay is now a part of the photos, and cannot be changed without deleting the photos and re-uploading or re-importing them.
    • If you choose to add the overlay to the main vehicle photo on Craigslist only, you can make changes to your overlay settings that will be use the next time you post to Craigslist without affecting the photos that are displayed on your website or exported to any third-parties.
