KARPOWER Online Import

Pre-Processing (NEED TO DO ONLY ONCE) 

Prior to exporting the data from Kelley Blue Book Online, you need to perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to Karpower Online by going to http://www.karpower.com.
  2. Enter your User ID.
  3. Enter your Password.
  4. Click Login.
  5. Go to the  Administration & Preferences tab.
  6. Click on File Exports under Templates on the left hand side.
  7. Click on Add New Export.
  8. For Saved File Type, choose TEXT.
  9. Click Next.
  10. For the Available fields, highlight the first element, hold down the shift, scroll to the bottom, then click on the last field.  This will highlight every field.
  11. Click Add.
  12. Click Next.
  13. For the Delimiter, choose Comma
  14. Optionally, you can click Header Row with Data.
  15. Click Next.
  16. Leave Include Photos unchecked.
  17. Click Next.
  18. Type in a name you will remember (for example, DeskManager).
  19. Click Finish.

Processing

  1. Log in to Karpower Online by going to http://www.karpower.com .
  2. Enter your User ID.
  3. Enter your password.
  4. If you haven’t added/booked any vehicle yet, go to the Vehicle tab and enter your vehicle(s).
  5. Go to the Inventory tab.
  6. Select all the vehicles you want to export by clicking the box to the left of the Photo column heading, or by checking the box next to the vehicle(s) you want to export.
  7. Click Export.
  8. Click Run next to the template you’ve created in Pre-Processing above.
  9. On the Save File Export screen, click on the file name.
  10. You will be given a choice of Open, Save, or Cancel.  Choose Save.  Note that this will create a zip file.
  11. Save the file in driveletter:\deskman\download\misc, where driveletter is the drive where DeskManager is installed.
  12. If DeskManager is open, close it and re-open it.  This will extract the zip file you downloaded and place the file in the root directory of DeskManager.
  13. Click on File.
  14. Click on Import.
  15. Click on Kelley Blue Book Online.
  16. Highlight the file vehicle.txt.
  17. Click Open.
  18. Click Yes on the Overwrite prompt.
  19. Your vehicles will now be imported.
