Editing an Existing User

This article is for DeskManager 11. For DeskManager Online see User Roles.

Security Settings

DeskManager user security settings allow you to customize permissions to users of the program. These options are available after adding a new user.

Entering User Security

To edit an existing user account start by clicking File > Setup. User Security will automatically be the first option under Setup. Next double click on the user you would like to edit.

Editing Security Settings

Clicking on a menu option on the left pane will bring up permissions related to that section of the program in the middle pane. A checkbox signifies the user is permitted to perform this action. In the example below, the user is now unable to add a new payment.

Filters

Users can also have filters applied for the inventory and deal lists. These filters can be based on buyer, employee, inventory sub-status, or lot. Having no filters will allow the user to see all inventory and deals.

Finding Filters

To start the filter process click the Filters tab inside a user.

Choosing What To Filter

Next check whether you would like to filter the deals that user sees, the inventory that user sees, or both.

Assigning Filters

Next choose the parameters for the filter. As mentioned above the filters can be based on buyer, employee, inventory sub-status, or lot. Take note of the equals (=) and does not equal (<>) option.

Saving Your Changes

Be sure to save your changes when you’re done.
